Before you buy or download

System requirements

For the best experience we recommend a machine that meets or exceeds the following.

The same requirements apply to every Model Maker Systems program — Model Maker, Road Maker, Pipe Maker, Survey Maker, Irri Maker and Point Cloud Viewer. Our software is Windows only.

Operating system

Minimum & recommended Windows 11, or the most recent version of Windows that Microsoft still supports.
⚙

Processor

Minimum Intel i5 or equivalent.
Recommended A current Intel i7 or equivalent. It gives excellent performance on the processor-heavy work our software does, without the cost of the top-end chips.
🧮

Memory

Minimum 8 GB, or whatever your version of Windows requires, whichever is higher.
Recommended 16 GB or more — particularly for large datasets, such as a big DTM in Model Maker.
💾

Storage

Minimum 500 GB SSD.
Recommended 500 GB or more NVMe SSD, for faster access to large files.
🎨

Graphics

Minimum Onboard graphics are sufficient. A separate NVIDIA or AMD card is not required — it does not make our software noticeably faster, because the work is done by the processor. A modern card will make the rest of your machine feel quicker, which helps indirectly.

In short

Choose the best processor, memory and storage you can justify — especially if you work with large datasets. Those three make far more difference than the graphics card.
